Dance class

Dance classes started the beginning of September, and all I can say regarding Elli's attitude about it is "what a difference a year makes!" She loves to dance, but last year would cry and cling about going out with her class unless someone (other than her parent) physically took her out there. This year it's all smiles and she runs right out. Aunt Mandy thinks it may be because she knows there's a beautiful costume at the end of the year : )
The first week I didn't know she was to go upstairs for her class and she danced with the first year students. Her cousin, Samuel was there too (in the knight helmet which he believed made him invisible!) This past week she moved upstairs and she told me "I danced beautiful, Mommy!"

As far as Kaity is concerned, she is definitely FLEXIBLE!!!

This year in ballet, she is starting cecchetti...concentrating on technique.

Kaity loves to dance and tumble!

The Kids Kloset

I've been asked by several people to see this room we've made into a closet for the kids. So, I'm finally posting some pictures! Frank made cubbies for the kids clothes on one end of the room and the other he put two hanging bars. There are also 4 dressers in the room for socks, undies, jammies, and off season clothes. There is room above and below the cubbies for bins of shoes or whatever! It's great! And makes laundry a LOT easier!

Goodbye, We'll Miss You, Papa...

Papa Mueller passed away Sept. 4th, 2008 when his body finally completely failed him. We are sad, but know where he is and that those of us who know Jesus Christ as our Savior will one day see him again. There is much comfort in knowing that. Papa always greeted me with "there's my girl!" I don't know if he greeted all his granddaughters like that, but on occasion I heard him greet my daughters the same way. He had many granddaughters, and even if he greeted each and every one of us like that, it still made you feel special. We will miss you, Papa, and your strong, yet quiet presence with us. We love you...see you soon!

New Beginnings

Zach got a really neat present from Grandma and Papa Corbett for his birthday...
2 caterpillars that change into Monarch butterflies. Over the last few weeks we've watched those caterpillars eat their milkweed leaves and crawl around, then finally about 10 days ago they made their chrysalis' after they hung upside-down for about a day and formed their "J" shape. Yesterday morning we noticed a change in one of them...it was all black. At first we feared the worst, but just a few hours later, a beautiful Monarch butterfly was hanging on the red mesh beside what was left of it's chrysalis. Zach remembered from school that it's wings needed to dry before it could fly. So a couple hours later, the kids released the butterfly. Now today the second chrysalis is black, but you can faintly see the wings of the butterfly inside. Tomorrow morning the butterfly will probably emerge. What an awesome reminder of new life in Christ...He takes our old self ,changes us, and gives us new life just like a beautiful butterfly.

In this picture you can see the shell of the chrysalis, the green chrysalis of the other caterpillar and the beautiful Monarch butterfly.
